Austin Pride 2013 – 09.07.2013

The Austin Gay and Lesbian Pride Foundation (AGLPF) is the 100% volunteer-run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to managing and organizing Austin’s annual PRIDE Celebration which will be held Saturday, September 7th. The theme for this year’s celebration is “LOVE UNITES” and Celebration events include the 4th Annual Rainbow Run 5K, daytime Festival featuring Andy Bell of Erasure and Crystal Waters, and the Evening Parade.

 

Two special events added to the Austin PRIDE Week 2013 lineup this year include: 

‘Werk!’ – a fashion show featuring designers from ‘Project Runway’ including Daniel Esquivel, Michael Knight and Season 3 Winner Jeffrey Sebelia. The event will also feature ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Season 3 Winner Raja as a special guest model and live performances from Electronic dance-pop duo Hi Fashion and San Francisco’s queer electro-hop group Double Duchess, and a silent auction featuring items from the designers and local businesses and restaurants!  Friday, September 6th: Doors open at 7PM, showtime at 8PM.

Group Wedding  Say “I Do” with Jane Wiedlin of The Go-Go’s. Jane will perform a symbolic group Wedding Ceremony before the annual Austin PRIDE Parade in front on the Paramount Theatre on Congress Avenue. Come dressed in your best wedding attire, say “I Do”, and then lead the Austin PRIDE Parade through downtown Austin. Saturday, September 7th: 7:30PM.
